RECENT PORTRAIT ASSIGNMENTS
Chicago Recorder Quartet
Accomplished soloists Lisette Kielson, Mirja Lorenz, Patrick O’Malley, and Laura Osterlund have joined
forces to explore the vast repertoire for recorder ensemble. I photographed these musical artists in
conjunction with a series of live performances and upcoming recording sessions. Chicago Recorder Quartet
is a Chicago-based professional recorder quartet, and its mission is bringing early music to the contemporary
world and presenting contemporary music on one of the earliest known instruments. Creating varied programs
and performing diverse music from vocal and instrumental traditions as well as commissioned works,
Chicago Recorder Quartet leads audiences on journeys through many centuries to lands near and far.
Saturday Night Live comedienne Nora Dunn
As a Chicago portrait photographer, it’s always an honor to photograph somebody with celebrity status.
I had the pleasure of photographing actress and comedienne Nora Dunn in the Ukrainian Village neighborhood
of Chicago. She started her career at the legendary Second City comedy club in Chicago, then in the mid-1980’s
got tapped for Saturday Night Live and has appeared in dozens of films and TV shows. You might remember her
for her roles in Working Girl, Zoolander, Bulworth, Curb Your Enthusiasm, the Nanny, or Entourage. Recently
she has appeared in a series of Clorox commercials.
Spiaggia restaurant for Wine + Spirits magazine
Wine + Spirits magazine was doing a feature article on pairing wine and food and they sent me to world-renown Spiaggia
restaurant on North Michigan Avenue. This legendary restaurant has been voted best Italian restaurant in the country
several times. In addition to the food and wine, I photographed Chef Chris Marchino and Wine Director Rachael Lowe.
